Without question, Thanksgiving is a hunter's holiday.

If you're like most, you've spent your share of Thanksgivings in the deer blind with family or good friends. For me, I've commenced turkey day in fishing fashion off the shoreline looking for diving gulls and bait dancing across the water.

The early morning roar of an outboard idling in the marina and the slow procession of navigation lights as we make our way past the no-wake zone is what I look forward to.

We get just a couple hours of solid fishing time and we cherish every second. There is a point every morning on the first wade, where we seem to quiet down and feel the moment. There is something sort of religious about it. We silently commence down the shoreline as the sun peeks over the horizon until the peace is finally interrupted with a thump and the splash of a speckled seatrout.

Our second wade is commonly sounded off with the crack of the first Miller Light and the rest of the trip we enjoy good humor, hilarious banter, and 90's country music. We catch a few fish and enjoy a couple of beers as we ease into the afternoon craziness.

So as we drift off into the delicious food coma this afternoon, we want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Have fun, get loud, eat great food and enjoy the company of loved ones!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, we are so grateful to get to do what we love.

Happy thanksgiving

These Christmas lights in Kokomo, Indiana are on point. If we weren't so obsessed with the winter trout bite, we would all turn our houses into a sea of flashing fishing displays "if you catch my drift".
