Reel Sportswear® presents a short "call-to-action" documentary film centered around the life and career of renowned Rockport fishing guide Jay Watkins, SR.

Beneath the Surface thoughtfully reflects on a successful career, life and an obsession with speckled trout fishing while edifying the importance of responsible conservation practices and navigating through the current state of the trout fishery.

This short film is not about Reel Sportswear or selling fishing apparel. It’s a story about a man who has devoted his life to our sport, the species and has become an inspiration to anglers everywhere. 

The film, to us is advocacy for a sport we hold dear and pays homage to those who have come before us. It displays notes on humility, life and responsibility for protecting the gifts our resources provide.

Our brand mission is to Build the best product, promote the conservation of marine resources, use business to inspire and influence on our family, friends and our community.

That last part, That’s exactly what this story is to us.
